29 Faces, Day 29

Face 29 copyIt's finally here! The last day of the 29 Faces challenge. I have mixed feelings about this coming to an end. On the one hand, it has forced me to find time for drawing and painting every day. That tells me that if I really want to do it, I'll find a way. On the other hand, I am happy to be rid of the pressure to produce, even though that is probably just what this busy artist-wanna-be needs. Will I continue to paint faces? Of course I will. Will I do one every day? Well, a sketch maybe, and hopefully some painting as well. For this face, I opened my recycled book journal to a page that already had paint on it, so I had a nice background just waiting to be added to. I picked up some Golden Ultramarine Violet and laid in the shadows, also outlining some hair. Titanium white, for light areas and highlights, was the only other paint used. As with others that I've started in this way, she may get some more color down the road. For now, she is finished, and so am I.
