Living in a drought-stricken area has made me even more aware of how little thought we give to the every-day use of our natural resources. Water down the drain has become shameful, as it should be, as it should always have been. Turning the lights off when no one is in the room, turning the television off when no one is watching, putting on a jacket rather than heating the house to a higher temperature, driving a dirty car; these are all a part of my psyche now as I am trying to be more aware, more frugal, more responsible for the sake of our environment. There are so many who have none of the above-mentioned luxuries and I do not want to take them for granted. I am not perfect...I know I make mistakes, but I am trying to do better.
