Missing The Rain

My cousin has told me that it's raining where she is in Michigan and, I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous. We don't get a lot of rain in Southern California. A recent out-of-state houseguest asked, on noticing the marine layer, "Is it going to rain?" "Yes," I answered, "In about October."How fondly I remember the days of growing up in Michigan and making the best of those gloomy, rainy days. That's when you don't need an excuse to stay inside and curl up with a good book. A big pot of soup is all that's needed for dinner.
